You can save thousands of dollars on a kitchen renovation or even on a new kitchen. There are many ideas for cutting corners or saving money, but the most direct route is to find the best prices.

I have looked in many big box retail stores, smaller home centers, local supply stores, and online. The absolute best prices and values were found on the internet. The overall pre-eminent cabinet type that provided value and quality was the RTA type of cabinet. (Ready to Assemble).

First, a ready to assemble cabinet is as good as an assembled cabinet. I had the notion that this type of cabinet might be weaker or structurally unstable. Instead I have found that the RTA kitchen cabinets and actually the RTA bathroom vanities are as good as or better than the assembled cabinets that a consumer is paying top dollar for.

Let's face it, in this troubled market, any angle we can get to stay ahead, we must take and buying an RTA kitchen cabinet or RTA bathroom vanity will provide savings without substituting quality. It takes that extra twenty minutes to assemble a cabinet, but if you are going to be saving hundreds or even thousands of dollars on your kitchen, then why not assemble these cabinets yourself. And to make it an even sweeter deal, these cabinets are easy to put together and only need a single flat head screw driver for construction!

I looked for RTA products at retail stores. First I went to the super centers and found that prices were not very good. I went locally to the "mom and pop" hardware stores and found prices to be similar to the big box retailers (NOTE: to the reader- the big box stores only have good prices on a few items. This is designed to get you into their store, shop around, you will see the same prices at the local hardware stores and at the same time, you will be helping out the little guy and not feeding the corporate giants).

Ok, so enough about avoiding the evil corporations and back to the important things like saving money on kitchen cabinets. To sum up price comparisons - the retail stores were about thirty five to forty five percent higher than online stores. Even with shipping, buying online saved me over twenty five percent!

So, after going to some retail stores, this then lead back to shopping for RTA kitchen cabinets online. I did a search for "RTA kitchen cabinets" and found quite a few. Of course after I looked at about 5 of them, I went back to the top searches. I bypassed the paid searches (on the very top of the page) and went to the real sites that are deserving of being placed there.

After all of this, I found the RTA products I needed, I saved $2,345.00 on my kitchen and the cabinets look like something out of a high end show room. It was a fantastic savings and it clearly will add value to my house. Next stop, RTA bathroom vanities.
