Mold is not good to have in your carpet because it can cause so many things and your health and do so much damage to your home. It is easy for mold to grow in carpet because carpet has the right condition, and it can hold moisture in and mold can easily spread. Mold can get not only in the carpet but under it as well and that can damage the floor. If water or any other drinks get on the carpet, it can stain it, and it can soak in and the water or the other drink can spread under the carpet.

If something spills on it, you need to try to soak it up and clean it with carpet cleaner so it will not damage the carpet, padding, or the floor. If there is mold in the carpet, you really don't want to use bleach on the carpet because it can damage the carpet. You will have to get rid of the carpet and replace it, and you will need to clean the floor before you lay down new carpet. If you don't, the moisture in the floor can get in the new carpet and cause mold to grow in it, too. It will be good to clean the floor with bleach because it will kill the bacteria and the mold, and it will also dry out the area that the mold was at. It can strip the floor so you have to be careful.

You can save your carpet if it has mold on it. All you have to do is use the proper cleaning supplies to get rid of the mold. It is also good to keep your house dry. You can use a humidifier to keep the moisture out of your home. Mold can get in carpets from a leaky roof and if water gets under the door. You have to make sure your roof has no leaks so your carpet and your home will not get damage to it. If you use a carpet cleaner machine on your carpet, you have to make sure all the water is out and make sure the carpet gets dry fast so the water will not soak in the floor and the moisture will not stay in the carpet.

If any of these happen, mold can easily grow in, and it can cause damage and health problems. Run the cleaning machine over and over the carpet to get it dried and to keep mold from getting in it. Water leaks from pipes can also cause mold to grow in the carpet, and it can stain and damage the carpet. Water gets under the carpet, causing mold to get into the fibers of the carpet and the floor underneath, and the water can spread into a bigger area and when mold forms, that can spread also. So if water gets on the carpet, pull it up can clean the carpet and the floor to keep this from happening.
