Mold is no laughing matter when you find that it is growing in your home anywhere, but when you have found it in an attic or basement where you might have items stored that are still valuable to you, it can be heartbreaking as well. Tell them what items you have damaged and how bad it is. They can probably quote you an estimate for restoration over the phone or email you. They can tell you approximately how long the procedure takes and what is involved. You will ship your items or they might come and pick them up.

The main thing you need to do next is find out what caused the water, moisture, or humidity in these areas of your home and get it fixed. A water damage company is able to find and fix the problem. Storing items that are susceptible to water and mold in airtight, waterproof containers will also be a good bet to protect your stored items in the future no matter where you put them.
