Learn How to Build a Wind Turbine

you are in search of alternative residential energy options, consider a wind turbine. Not only can you build on yourself, but they can provide the energy your home needs at a lower cost than traditional energy sources.

Here are simple instructions that will teach you how to build a wind turbine:

1. Choose a generator as this is one of the most important components of a wind turbine. You can locate motors online, through auction websites and through a variety of local retailers.

2. Next you will need to locate a hub, available in a variety of materials. Many professionals recommend aluminum as it is a lightweight material. Once you select the material for the hub, you need to cut a circle out of the material as you will attach your motor’s axle to the material.

3. Now that you have completed the original steps, you need to choose the blades for your wind turbine. Blades are available in a variety of materials, but most turbines are constructed using plastic, a thin metal or PVC pipe. Once you select the blade material, you will need to situate the turbine so that the blades capture the wind which is required to power the generator.

4. Now, you need to determine the tower height for your turbine and begin to construct the structure. The tower of your wind turbine will be critical as its height will help determine the amount of wind that the turbine will capture.

5. Connect all of the wires to up your tower to your generator, all of which will be connected to a controller.

These instructions will walk you through the overview of how to build a wind turbine. Once everything is in place, the wind captured by the turbines will charge the generator, giving you the power that you are seeking for your property.
